- Where are my files uploaded?
- Nowhere. LiteCompress processes images entirely inside your browser using Web Workers and the Canvas API. Your photos never leave your device, and we never receive a copy.
- Is it safe to compress personal or work photos here?
- Yes. Because the file stays on your device, it is safer than cloud converters that upload your images to a remote server. We do not store, read, or analyze the content of your files.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. The service is completely free, with no sign-up, no email confirmation, and nothing to install.
- What is the maximum file size?
- You can compress files up to 50 MB each. This limit helps protect your browser tab from running out of memory on slower phones and laptops.
- Can I compress several images at once?
- Yes. You can drag in or select multiple files, compress them in one batch, and download them individually or all together.
- What is "For a platform" mode?
- It is a set of ready presets for marketplaces — Wildberries, Ozon, Avito, Amazon and others. Pick a platform and the right size, format, and crop ratio are applied automatically to match its requirements.
- Can I crop a photo before compressing?
- Yes. Every file has a "Crop" button. In "For a platform" mode the ratio is locked to the platform requirement; in "Just compress" mode you pick any ratio or a free crop.
- Why does PNG compress less than JPG?
- PNG is a lossless format designed for graphics and transparency, so it keeps every pixel exactly. For photographs, enable "Convert to JPG" to reduce the size much more.
- Will compression reduce the quality of my image?
- Compression trades a small amount of visual detail for a much smaller file. On the "Balanced" level the difference is usually invisible on screen, while the file becomes several times smaller. You choose the balance between size and sharpness with the "Smaller file / Balanced / Best quality" buttons.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. LiteCompress works in any modern mobile browser. Processing happens on the device, so a stable internet connection is not required after the page has loaded.
- Are HEIC photos from iPhone supported?
- Most modern browsers can open JPG, PNG, and WebP for compression. HEIC support depends on your browser and device; if a HEIC file cannot be processed, convert it to JPG first.
- Do you keep a copy of my compressed images?
- No. The result is generated in your browser and offered as a download. Once you close the tab, nothing remains on our side because nothing was ever sent to us.
